Auxiliaries: Parent-Teacher Association
As a chartered member of the Georgia Parent-Teacher Association, membership is open to anyone who believes in the mission and purposes of the National Parent Teacher Association. Every person who joins a local PTA automatically becomes a member of both the state and National PTAs
The primary goals of the PTA are to provide:
• a powerful voice for all children;
• a relevant resource for families and communities; and
• a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.
To accomplish this partnership, all families are required to join the PTA and complete twenty (20) hours of volunteer service to Romar/Romar PTA, raise $300 through fund raising activities, or make a donation of $250 to Romar PTA.
Below are some ways to volunteer through:
• Field Trip Volunteer
• Coach - Soccer/Basketball
• Enrichment Club Coordinator
• Picture Day Volunteers
• Cougars Literary Guild
• Be a Class Parent
• After School Homework Volunteer
• PTA Events Coordinator (Fall Carnival, Holiday Breakfast, Fall Fundraiser, Etc.)
• PTA Executive Board
• Event Volunteer
Occasionally, the school and/or the PTA will request volunteers for activities. Anyone interested in providing this valuable service is welcomed and may indicate their interest and availability by completing a Volunteer Activity Sheet.
There are numerous activities that take place throughout the school year; however, please do not feel compelled to participate in everything. Some activities are a better fit for some families rather than others but we do encourage families to participate in at least two school and/or PTA activities.
